We are currently looking for taxi drivers for evening and weekend shifts. This opportunity is ideal for those looking to earn extra income through part-time work, or for those who want to stay active after retirement. This is a permanent position, and more hours may be available for the right candidate.

The workplace is located at Unit 2b, Long Rock Industrial Estate, Penzance (TR20 8HX), and the work will primarily be on the road.

What does a taxi driver do?

People often joke, “I’m not your taxi driver,” but in reality, the role of a taxi driver is incredibly important. Taxi drivers provide an essential service to the community.

This job involves:

• Transporting passengers to and from airports and train stations
• Taking children to and from school
• Safely transporting shoppers home
• Assisting elderly and disabled passengers

Every day will be different, and you’ll experience the satisfaction of helping people.

Work Pattern and Shifts

This is a part-time, permanent position. The work will primarily be in the evenings, nights, and weekends.

Weekday evening shifts

Night shifts

Weekend availability required

This is a great way to supplement income for those already employed or retired.

Vehicle and Expenses

The successful candidate will be provided with a fully licensed taxi by the company. All necessary vehicle expenses will be covered by the company, including:

• Fuel
• Insurance
• Other taxi operating costs

The driver will only be responsible for a weekly vehicle rental fee, which will be a fixed percentage of their earned fares.

Qualifications and Licensing Information

To apply for this position, candidates must have:

• A full UK driving license held for at least 1 year
• A Hackney Carriage or Private Hire Driver License issued by Cornwall Council is desirable.

If you do not have this license, the company may be able to assist the right candidate. This process is straightforward and typically takes approximately 6 weeks.

Working Hours and Earnings

Weekly working hours: 8 to 30 hours

Estimated annual earnings: £15,000 to £35,000 (depending on work and availability)
